Seka Sports Calls Santa Fe Springs Home
Santa Fe Springs Chamber of Commerce – November 2008
Santa Fe Springs welcomes Seka Sports Equipment to our growing business community. According to John Scatoloni, Managing Director of locally based, Encon Commercial Real Estate Services, “Santa Fe Springs is an easy sell compared with other industrial cities in the Los Angeles basin. Our business community is focused on industrial concerns with a long history of manufacturing and has most recently become a top choice for logistic and import/export companies.”
We find our local business advantages very well aligned with companies’ key concerns including a) great strategic location in the central Los Angeles area– well served by major freeways, state roads and local arterials, b) excellent warehousing options for lease or for purchase and perhaps most important c) the choice of a safe and clean environment to call home. While lease rates are falling due to the economic down-turn in 2008, Santa Fe Springs makes for an ideal location and a rich environment to find opportunities for growth.
Seka Sports Equipment imports youth sporting goods nation-wide and recently leased 10,000 square feet of fully refurbished, dock-high loading distribution space at AMB’s Los Nietos Business Center. With a lot of space available in the market, AMB delivered a turnkey, ready-to-move-in facility, which is an example of the quality of industrial properties that exist in Santa Fe Springs. What gives Santa Fe Springs high marks in the search for space in Los Angeles is a positive business-centric city structure emphasizing development of quality distribution centers with features that add to operational efficiency, plus our community’s drive for a safe and clean environment to do business.
We are pleased to recognize Seka Sports Equipment as a new member of the Santa Fe Springs business community and wish them the very best for future growth and expansion. Seka Sport Equipment’s new home base is 9041 Dice Road, Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670.

Applied Products, Inc. Continues Growing in Santa Fe Springs
Santa Fe Springs Business – April 2007
How the Santa Fe Springs Chamber of Commerce and Its Members Can Work for Your Business!
Applied Products, Inc. based in Minnesota, moved its west coast distribution center from Rancho Dominquez to Santa Fe Springs in 2002. The firm is a nationwide leader in providing solutions for adhesive-related equipment needs.
Initially, they warehoused products with a local public warehouse and subleased office space within the same building. As their business grew, the shared space became increasingly restrictive. In December, 2005, Tara Moctezuma, the West Coast operations supervisor of Allied Products, responded to a Santa Fe Springs non-member survey.
She expressed interest in joining the chamber, but also indicated they were interested in moving to a new location that better suited their need, which also took into consideration their planned future growth.
The Santa Fe Springs Chamber’s director of marketing met with Tara and learned more details about the company and what they were looking for. She expressed happiness with Santa Fe Springs as their business location and wanted to remain in the city.
All of this resulted in the Santa Fe Springs Chamber referring Applied Products to a number of commercial realtors who were members of the chamber. Applied Products selected Encon Commercial Real Estate, located in Santa Fe Springs, which does an excellent job of matching business moves to company needs/
Their initial goal was to find a property within Santa Fe Springs that met Applied Products immediate and long-term needs. But that is only the beginning of a great story that took over one year of effort by individuals from Applied Products, Encon Commercial Real Estate, and Santa Fe Springs city and fire department staff involved with building, development, and permitting.
Applied Products joined the Santa Fe Springs Chamber shortly after this process began. In December, 2006, Applied Products committed to a five year term lease with a five year term option in the Golden Springs Development of Santa Fe Springs.
This investment commitment by Applied Products represents many positive expansions worth nothing – jobs, equipment, size, scale of leased premises, and commitment to the local market.
In February 2007, they happily moved into their new location at 13152 Imperial Highway in Santa Fe Springs and can be reached at (562) 926-7382. You can also learn more by going online to www.appliedproducts.com
We applaud them for keeping their company in the business and manufacturing a friendly environment of Santa Fe Springs, while utilizing the chamber and its members to help make that happen.
The winners in this success story are Applied Products, their customers, Encon Commercial Real Estate, Golden Springs Development Company, the city of Santa Fe Springs, the Santa Fe Springs Chamber of Commerce, and many others who have benefited both during and after this process.
Being a member of the chamber means a lot of things to different people in a wide variety of companies located inside and outside this city.
But as the great radio announcer Paul Harvey used to say, “That’s the rest of the story.” We suggest you call the Santa Fe Springs Chamber at (562) 944-1616 and learn how they might be of assistance to your business.
